NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS
Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing
Cryolipolysis is also known as fat freezing, it is a non-invasive procedure that delivers controlled cooling at the surface of the skin to kill fat cells and can lead to a reduction in the amount of subcutaneous fat. You may start to see changes in as early as three weeks after your procedure and will experience peak results after one to three months.
How does it work?
Fat freezing works by causing cell apoptosis (fat cell death) at very cold temperatures. In the weeks following treatment, the body will metabolize the frozen fat cells and remove them naturally from the body.
Depending on the targeted area, each procedure can take from 35 minutes to an hour.
There is no downtime because there is no damage to the skin or tissue.
Results are not evident immediately. Since fat cells are removed gradually from the body, it can take 3 months + to achieve optimal results.
During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site.
These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.
Rarely, cryolipolysis can cause mild or moderate pain afterward. You’re also at a slight risk of nerve pain.
Sometimes your skin can look less smooth afterward.
Less than 1% of people who get it done have a complication called paradoxical fat hyperplasia.
When this happens, the number of fat cells in the area of treatment increase instead of decrease.
On the day of your treatment, you will receive guidance on aftercare measures to minimise swelling and bruising.
We recommend avoiding excessive heat and strenuous physical activity for up to 48 hours following the procedure.
If you find it necessary to schedule a follow-up appointment after two weeks, our skin clinic will ensure you are informed.
