Dermal Fillers Essex

As we age, our skin undergoes changes, including the loss of essential elements like fat and collagen, which provide volume and support to the face. Additionally, the formation of lines, wrinkles, and folds can contribute to an ageing appearance.

Dermal fillers are formulations that can consist of various substances, some occurring naturally and others synthetic. Among the most commonly used compounds in dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally present substance in our skin, serving a crucial role in maintaining skin hydration and volume.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?
HA Dermal Filler is a sterile gel consisting of non-animal, stabilised hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule found in all skin and soft tissues throughout the body, identical across species. Dermal fillers are manufactured, usually through fermentation and cross linking with proteins to produce a clear, sterile gel for injection into the skin.

How Does it Work?
Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers are a clear sterile gel in a syringe for injection into the skin providing instant correction. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water in the skin, providing volume and hydration, but also ‘cushioning’ and supporting collagen and elastin fibres and providing a medium, or carrier, for chemical messages between the cells.

Your session at our Nuovo clinic will be completed in approximately 30–40 minutes.
Dermal fillers will be precisely injected into specific facial areas, delivering instantly visible results

Following filler treatment, you might require up to 48 hours of downtime.
This period allows for the resolution of any mild side effects and allows your fillers to settle effectively.

The duration of the results from your filler treatment typically ranges from 6 to 12 months, depending on the specific areas of application on your face.
You won’t have to wait to see the results, as they should be immediately visible.

Facial contouring treatment involves the injection of hyaluronic acid gels, also known as dermal fillers, beneath the skin.
This procedure results in enhanced skin volume in areas of the face that have lost collagen due to aging, ultimately providing a more youthful appearance.

You might experience mild bruising, swelling, and temporary discomfort at the injection site, but these effects typically dissipate rapidly.
Allergic reactions are highly improbable because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body.
However, it’s important to note that although rare, there are potential risks of more serious complications, which will be thoroughly addressed during your consultation.

We’ll provide detailed after-care information.
The advice we give will be with the goal of you achieving optimal results, while retaining your full health.

Fillers are a versatile tool for defining and enhancing facial features. By restoring volume to areas like the cheeks and under the eyes (tear troughs), a fresh and rejuvenated appearance can be achieved. Subtle reshaping of the nose, chin, and jawlines can help create facial harmony and balance..

Dermal fillers are a great for sculpting the chin and jawline, offering various benefits. They can enhance definition, add volume to create desired shapes, and effectively address concerns such as sagging skin, often referred to as ‘jowls,’ which can develop with ageing. Additionally, dermal fillers in these areas can provide essential support to help prevent the effects of ageing, contributing to a more youthful and balanced appearance.

Dermal fillers serve a dual purpose when it comes to the lips. They can be used to both restore lost shape and volume, resulting in a natural and hydrated appearance. Additionally, dermal fillers can enhance the lips, ensuring they are more proportionate and harmonious with the rest of your facial features.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a cosmetic procedure that entails precise injections. These injections are administered to augment the volume of soft facial tissues, targeting areas like the cheeks, mouth, lips, around the eyes, and the jawline. This treatment effectively addresses signs of ageing by filling in wrinkles, mitigating the appearance of dark circles, and addressing thinning lips. The gel used typically contains hyaluronic acid, a natural component found in the skin.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are widely acknowledged as a minimally invasive and safe cosmetic procedure. This is primarily due to the use of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the body, in the treatment. Because hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring, there is no known risk of an allergic reaction, making dermal fillers a well-tolerated option for many individuals.

Am I Suitable for Treatment?

We will take a detailed medical history to ensure you have no conditions that might increase risk of unwanted side effects, consultation is also important to discuss your expectations and whether or not this treatment is able to meet them.

How long will it take to see results?

After the treatment, you can anticipate seeing immediate results. These results will continue to improve and become even more pronounced over the course of two to four weeks following the procedure.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The amount of time which the results last will vary from person to person, but this is usually between nine and 18 months.

Are there any special steps for aftercare?

Most people are able to continue with normal activities with immediate improvement in their appearance. Some will have some redness, pin prick marks, possibly swelling- particularly in the lips. Possibly bruising. Any swelling and bruising may be more apparent the next day.

Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours

You are advised to avoid alcohol, vigorous exercise, sun bathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong swelling.

Swelling may worsen in the first 24 hours, and then should settle within the first few days. Cold packs can be helpful in reducing swelling. As a consequence of swelling, the product may feel harder or lumpy and you may notice some asymmetry. The final result may be judged at 2 weeks.

Bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising. It is advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for 12-48 hours after treatment. Tenderness should settle as swelling goes down.

Athletes should be aware some ingredients in the product may show a positive in ‘anti-dope tests’

Please contact your practitioner if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days, rather than settling.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.
