POLYNUCLEOTIDES
Polynucleotides (derived from fragments of fish DNA that mirror human DNA) have amazing regenerative and bio-stimulating properties to fight the signs of ageing.
NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS
POLYNUCLEOTIDES
Polynucleotides stimulate cellular growth and repair, and increase the skins production of collagen. This process not only improves the appearance of the skin texture, elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles, but it also aids its recovery from various forms of damage, sun exposure, natural ageing, and certain types of dermatological conditions.
They are highly popular for treating the face, neck, hands and stomach due to their fantastic results.
What are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotide injections are a form of aesthetic treatment increasingly recognised for their regenerative properties. They are used to rejuvenate the skin by enhancing hydration, elasticity, and improving texture. The active components in the treatment are polynucleotides, which are long chains of nucleotides, the basic units of DNA and RNA. When injected into the skin, they stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, leading to the regeneration of skin cells and the production of collagen.
The treatment typically takes approximately 30 minutes. Following a face to face consultation to assess your suitability for treatment, you will discuss the procedure, what to expect and aftercare, before receiving the polynucleotides treatment. Multiple treatments are recommend for full results.
Treatment frequency varies for each individual, but 3 – 4 treatments usually deliver the best results. This should be repeated once every 6-12 months.
There is a possibility of some minor swelling and/or redness at the injection site, which should only last a few days. There is not any significant downtime required for polynucleotide treatment, with many patients returning to work or their usual activities straight after treatment.
You can expect to see the initial effects of your polynucleotides treatment around 2-4 weeks following the treatment, and the full, optimal results should become evident within 2-3 months as the skin rejuvenates. Generally, a course of treatments is recommended for optimal results.
An initial series of treatments typically involves 3 to 4 sessions spaced approximately 2 to 4 weeks apart. This initial phase aims to maximise the regenerative potential of the skin, allowing for significant improvement in hydration, elasticity, and overall skin health. After completing the initial series, maintenance sessions are often recommended to sustain the benefits achieved. The frequency of these maintenance treatments can vary widely but are commonly scheduled every 6 to 12 months.
This helps to prolong the rejuvenating effects of the polynucleotides on the skin. It’s important to note that individual treatment plans may differ. The specific treatment interval and number of sessions should be tailored to each person’s unique skin needs and goals.
We use extremely fine needles when administering the Botox to ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure.
The fish DNA used in polynucleotides is very similar to human DNA. The particles are highly purified and therefore there are no long-term risks to using polynucleotides regularly.
On the day of your treatment, you will receive guidance on aftercare measures to get the best results from your treatment.
We recommend avoiding excessive heat and strenuous physical activity for at least 24-48 hours following the procedure.

FAQS
POLYNUCLEOTIDES
It is important you tell your practitioner about any medicines or dietary supplements you are taking as these can adversely affect the way the treatment works or increase your risk of bruising.
It is advisable that you do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment or within 24 hours post treatment.
The treatment is not recommended if you are feeling at all unwell. You should drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment can help enhance the effects of the polynucleotide injections.
Minimise sun exposure and do not use tanning beds before your treatment to avoid any skin irritation. Refrain from using retinoids, exfoliating acids, or any other potentially irritating skin care products a few days prior to your appointment.
Be aware of the necessary after-care advice and that your schedule allows for you to follow it.

After the treatment with polynucleotides, you can expect the following timeline of effects:
• Avoid Touching the Injection Area for up to 12 hours after treatment
• Avoid strenuous activities and exercises for at least 24 to 48 hours post-injection as it allows the injection site to heal and minimises the risk of bruising or swelling.
• To reduce the risk of infection, keep the injection site clean. Avoidsubmerging the area in water for at least 24 hours.
• Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners: Alcohol and certain medications like aspirin can increase the risk of bruising. It’s best to avoid these for a few days before and after the treatment.
• If you notice swelling or feel discomfort, applying a subtle cold compress can help reduce these symptoms.
• Drinking plenty of water helps the body process and metabolise the polynucleotide injection. This can lead to better results and quicker recovery.
• Monitor for Adverse Reactions: Symptoms like excessive swelling, prolonged redness, itchiness, or signs of infection should be reported to your practitioner immediately.
• Direct sun exposure can irritate the treated area. Use sunscreen or protective clothing if you’ll be out in the sun.
• For at least 48 hours post-injection, avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths.
